Midterm Break Begins: New Era School Students Enjoy a Well-Deserved Rest

New Era School wishes all our students, parents, guardians, and staff a refreshing and joyful midterm break!

As per the official 2026 academic calendar released by the Ministry of Education, learners across Kenya are now on their Term 1 half-term break, which began today, Wednesday, February 25, 2026, and will run through Tuesday, March 3, 2026 (a well-deserved 6-day respite).

This short break comes after an intensive start to the year, allowing our young scholars to recharge, spend quality time with family, pursue personal interests, and return refreshed for the second half of Term 1.

Our students have shown remarkable dedication in academics, co-curricular activities—including our recent strong showing at the Sub-County Drama Festival—and everyday school life. This pause is the perfect opportunity to celebrate small wins, rest well, read for pleasure, engage in family activities, or simply enjoy some downtime.

Important reminders for a safe and productive break:

  • Travel safely and observe all road safety rules.
  • Maintain healthy routines: balanced meals, adequate sleep, and light physical activity.
  • Continue practicing good reading habits and limited screen time.
  • Students are expected to report back to school on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, ready to resume classes promptly

We extend our sincere appreciation to parents and guardians for your continued partnership in nurturing our learners. Your support makes all the difference!

Wishing everyone a peaceful, fun-filled midterm break. See you soon, stronger and more energized!
